JACK D ROBERTS
of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
U. S. Army
Army Staff Sgt. Jack D Roberts, 39, a native Broken Arrow and soldier who was on medical leave after nearly losing his life and one of his legs from a roadside bobing in Iraq three years ago, was found dead in North Carolina.
His sister, pam Schultz, of Broken Arrow said he almost lost his left leg in an attack on his Humvee and had been on medical leave at Fort Bragg, N. C., receiving treatment. They've been trying to repair him for three years, and they were still in the process when we lost him.

As part of his treatment, Richards since Wednesday had been using a machine that administered morphine. He was found at his home on Sunday, but family members had not been able to reach him for several days, Schultz said.
Richards served in the Army for 10 years and was to turn 40 years old in December.
The Defense Department as of Sunday evening had not confirmed his death as of this posting.
